This doesn't seem like enough games to yours truly, Dwight K. Schrute.

If Clayton misses only two weeks he misses 9 games (this is through games of January 15. This does not include the fact that the game in which the infraction occurred the Thunder most likely LOST because of the penalty's that occurred in retaliation and the fact that one of the two best scorers on the team was out for the remainder of that game.
I believe he should have got at least twice as long as we are to be without Clayton.

Question to Thunder fans: What is your opinion of 10 games?

Also Wichita, 10 games would put Mr. Fleck (I use the term Mr. loosely and not as a term of respect) back for the 1/20 game versus the Mudbugs.
This still seems to be too light of a suspension even after given a full 5 minutes of thought.
The incident certainly seems on par with the Bertuzzi incident of 2003 (or was it 2004?) in the NHL which cost said player his season.

Thoughts Thunder fans and Wichita?

That is all.

Thunder Fans - From Pointstreak.com

Oklahoma City 12/29/05 DEL Fleck, Tyler (D) placed on league suspension for 10 games

That is all.

Considering that this isn't Fleck's first time at taking out the Thunder's best scorer, 10 games isn't nearly enough. (Sauter said that hit was a clean hit too.) Unless the league deals with Sauter, this BS is going to continue. The first time Fleck took out a Wichita player, the Thunder player was forced into retirement because he'd lost the sight in the eye that Fleck "accidentally" hit. That Fleck is just an accident waiting to happen, isn't he??

Make sure your information is correct before posting. Fleck did not end the Caeer of Todd. It was Simon Oliver sp?

Brian27:
You are correct - Simon Olivier ended Todd Howarths career. I believe this act of viciousness also took place around the same time of the year. If memory serves, Olivier was suspended for the remainder of that season and was banned from games against Wichita for the remainder of his career with OKC (or was it any games against Wichita he would have played in the CHL?). Regardless, the later seemed to be for Mr. Olivier's (again the term Mr. is used loosely and not as a term of respect) own protection.

The only bright side to this suspension that I could see would be two things:
A) If the suspension is satisfactory to Travis Clayton and he decides to continue his career.
B) Mr. Fleck will have to pay for his actions on the ice in future games against the Wichita Thunder.

That is all.

I believe Brian is a Thunderfan, and perhaps you should triple check what you posted before you call him out.

Ryan H:

Doubtful. My guess is said broadcaster has gone on the radio without the latest information.
He would flunk Broadcast 101 IMHO.

RyanH, we just called the radio station. Apparently, the suspension is not final until after the game. Possibly pending an appeal by the Blazers organization.

Ok... now announced as final. Confusion cleared up.

Sorry to hear of the incident but will probibly make for a great New Years trip to OKC. Who has the balls to go after an OKC player that night and be able to back it up? Please don't reply with BAIN! Doesn't mind going but not the greatest! I do know of a player who was cut in Topeka last season that held his own with Parker a few times in the Preseason that would love to come back to the USA and the CHL "Chad Nicholson" I talkto him once a month or so and he would love to come back if the chance was made available! Put it in coaches head and if he wanted a number I could get it for him! Later and good luck this weekend in OKC see those of you who are traveling there this weekend great post game party for new years outdooors at Bricktown! Let the coach know of the option better skater and probibly as good and willing of a fighter that wasn't given a chance in Topeka ---- Chad Nicholson

I also believe 10 games would be the outcome of this. They could have done all games against the Thunder for the rest of the season in addition to the 10 games.

Here's to a speedy recovery and being back on the ice soon, Clayton. As somebody said on another thread...What will Clayton think of this? Will he still want to retire??????

Saturday nights game will be very interesting to say the least.
