OK, and make sure your Daddy Mick (nickname DICK ) is there to , so I can knock out two " assholes " with one shot.

Sorry , I don't shop at 1909 east main street , that place is JUNK.

I shop the good store on Broadway Ave.

I see you all-most everyday and next time we pass I will WINK at ya.

Paul or Paul K,

Please make up your mind.

Do you remember reading a book named SYBIL in school.

She had two minds and couldn't make up her mind either.

Now I know why you had your YMCA membership revoked. Although, I guess I'm not surprised.

I thank the "FEARLESS DIRECTOR" for helping me make up my mind. I've wanted to move on and he helped me make up my mind. Dennis Deiser is the worst director that we have had in years. He is very selfish. The last 3 directors before him that we had were awesome. Ron Fish, Mark Posshel and Jeff Philapek.

The lesson here is, if your a member and you stick up for a new member, and the person you confront is " BUDDIES" with the director, then your going to lose. It's called the "GOOD OLE BOYS CLUB." Rolling Eyes

Who would want to be a member there, with a director like that.

Have a good day MIKE + ROY. Shocked

I have been watching this team very closely for the past month. Why have they not replaced this coach??? He is brutal. Albert Lea should have a handful of wins. THis guy does not know how to use his full bench. They lose in the third period because his studs are dead tired from too much ice time and too long of shifts. THere is enough talent to compete and win. You have a couple nice 89's that should be seeing more ice. Setting some tones out there. Does this guy have any coaching back round? He's a bum get someone that know the game and players. No line matching, power play is a joke and they get short handed after short handed goal scored on them. I have scene at least 5 games that were lost because of bad coaching. FIGURE IT OUT!!!!

Gnotes ,

I have noticed that the team needs to stop taking the stupid penalty's and they will have a better chance for some wins. They need to control there anger more. They will get regular penalty's the way it is in the NAHL , they don't need to add anymore. If there losing in the 3rd period, then the stupid penalty's start to happen.

This new starting goalie has helped keep the score down, now they need to start building off of that.

As for the coach, let's fix one problem at a time. No comment on the staff for me.

The way I see coaching is:

1. A bad team can make a good coach look bad.

2. A good team can make a bad coach look good.

* Also , The coach can't put the puck in the net for the players or stay out of the penalty box. I feel that a coach is most important in practice and in game action all he can do is try and point the players in the winning direction.

PS. This is a young team. Look at there roster, they have alot of 1990 birth dates. If all things work out normal for them, they should be more competive in a year or two. Keep your fingers crossed.

You're right, he may not put the puck in the net but he does teach them how and he should teach his players the discipline needed to stay out of the box. He also doesn't point them in the winning direction, he leads them.

I think it's a combination of things, and it starts with the owner/operations manager. This coach isn't the original coach - first allegedly couldn't see eye-to-eye with the owner - so assume this one still around because he does (or at least doesn't openly disagree). Lack of talent is also an issue, as the roster has several of the operations manager's buddy's kids (from the Chicago area) who were only average at the AA and CSHL level - would be hard pressed to make any other NAHL roster...

When I say coaching what I am talking about is line matching, knowing your oppositions best line. Not over playing your best players so come the third they are shot. THe power play is non exsistant. Trust me I dont mean to be a basher and I would love for them to start doing well but there are very obvious things that start at the top. Some of the shifts go a minute plus. At this level is should be 30-40 seconds hard and get off. How many third period games have they been in that they let slip away. Call a time out do something. If they take a dumb penalty that hurts the team send then let them have a seat for a while. As far as the kids from chicago that are hardly NAHL talent I have heard this from many other sources. Stop playing favorites and start playing to win. I thought this was a team that wasnt going to be pushed around or made a S&@t SHOW. Thus far it has been......

I will give Albert Lea credit for one thing, they have more syllables in their last names than any team in the league. Seriously I think some of these kids were asked to reach into a bag of Scrabble tiles and told to pick 12 random tiles to come up with their last names.

I think it was blasphemy for them to take the stick boy and make him start in goal last night. It wasn't pretty for the period he played. Let the new guy play until it looks like he needs a break.

Question for the Thunder fans. Are Thunder games being broadcasted on radio at all? I saw a crew outside of Owatonna's in the press box last night. If they are being broadcasted, which station is carrying the games?

Gnote,Jbag,Ncup,

If you have been watching the AL Thunder at all it should be obvious that there is little to no coaching going on during the games. Zangs may actually be a decent coach but we will never know. He is not being given the opportunity to actually coach this team. Soskin controls EVERYTHING. He sets the lines, He determines who will play. Brad is just going through the motions carrying out what Soskin has told him to do. They may practice the powerplay all week but when they are in the game they just go with whoever is the next line in order. If #21 is next up he goes out on the powerplay. No coach in his right mind would squander a PP opportunity by letting that kid on the ice. Brad basically is reduced to coaching as you would for first year mites in order to carry out Soskin's orders. If he were to actually make a decision on his own contrary to Soskin you can bet he would be out of a job. The Zamboni driver could be the next coach if Brad grows some and tells Soskin where to stick it.

Sounds alot like what happened in Owatonna last season. Luckily Cullen had a good enough of a team picked out before he left that they could overcome One of the most respected coaches in Junior Hockey's coaching.

Cry Baby

The things you say, you say them as facts. I would love to know how you always seem to have this reliable information. My guess is your just another, you think you know it all person.

I am from Albert Lea and I have been at all the games and I also look at the stats on Point Streak. It seems to me that all of our MN Players are stuggling as well except one. You must have have a hang up with the OM, because you always take it out on the player. Thats not right. Just so you know the facts. The one game the thunder won that player made the play happen and received the assist on the game winning goal on a PP. Its ok to be a off ice coach, but lets not bring players into the equation.

My thought is that we should support the team and all of the players and give them encouragement. They are a young team and they will be much better next year. If you take the time and talk to all the players not just ones from MN you will see they are a bunch of great boys. They are polite, respectfull and well mannered and well behaved in our community.

GO THUNDER!!!!

Automan,

Good Post. Very true.

I see you had a previous post about the Albert Lea "A" Bantam coach,Mike C.

Do you know why this guy is so TWO FACED and NEGATIVE all the time?
Maybe he should worry about his own teams problems. He has an excuse for everything when people talk to him. He also thinks he coach of the year and Mr. hockey.

He has been a BLOWHARD since the day he moved here.
