10-2 Embarassment. If the area of albert lea is so excited about this team why are they not calling for this coaches head? Anyone that has been around the game can see how bad it is. Now it even looks like the guys don't care or want to play for him. Usually when it gets 4-1 someone goes and tries to change momentum maybe a big check maybe a fight. What is more disapointing than the loss is the way they just took it. No competitive spirit what so ever. Come on guys your better than that no matter who is behind the bench. Have some pride.

The only NEGATIVE people I know of in Albert Lea that are speaking out against the Thunder team is Mike Carlson ( "A" Bantam coach.) and Roy Nystrom ( Albert Lea Boys Hockey Varsity Head Coach.)


Mike,

You pull for what ever group of people your standing with. You bash the Owatonna team when your standing with Albert Lea people, and you bash the Albert lea team when your standing with the Owatonna people.

This is called a " SUCK HOLE." You say what people want to hear so they like you.

I know this first hand because you did this to me at the Thunnder / Outlaws scrimmage. Also , alot of Thunder fans have told me you are so negative about the teams management.

If you want to pick the players and run the show , buy your own team.

You and the Albert Lea Head Boys Varsity Hockey Coach are the only two negative people that I have heard of so far against the Thunder team. Mike and Roy , stop trying to " CONTROL " things you have no control over.

1. You both bash the Management.

2. You both worry about where the players are from. ( Chicago area)

* Mike, you told me " it looks like a Chicago teir 3 team." " The director of operations knows nothing about hockey. " Also Mike , this team is giving money back to the program that you coach in and have two kids in. So don't BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU.

When I told you that a JR "A" team was coming to town , you said " Why don't they go over to Austin,MN they have two rinks too."
WOW , that was words of pure jealousy. I was shocked to here them words from a high school coach. Why would a coach even say something like that? Maybe it's taken some of his lime-light away in Albert Lea.

You also told me that " The way this team is going , they won't be around next year" I don't think you want them around next year because it cuts into your lime-light.

If it don't have your High School players on it then you don't care for it. The Thunder gave one of your players (Adam R. ) a chance and he walked. You have TUNNEL VISION and only see what you want to see.

* Also Mike told me that you don't promote your high school players to the JR " A " scouts.

Please make up your minds and either support the team 100 % or not. Both of your actions are TWO FACED.

Let me look into my hockey CRYSTAL BALL and see if I can find the answers to your questions.


The CRYSTAL BALL says give the Thunder credit where credit is due. The shoot-out is close but NO CIGAR. To take the 1st place team to a OT shoot-out is great progress. This new goalie has been a big help. I also see they picked up another new player.


The central teams have taken a huge swing.

Bismark and Owatonna are on the ups , Alexandria and the Outlaws are on the downs.


KUDOS , to the Thunder players that are working their ass off in these tough games and for not being quiters.

" KEEP WORKING HARD BOYS" WIN OR LOSE.

So being the hockey wonk I am, I'll be coming down to Albert Lea for my first Thunder game on Sunday Night. I'm sure the crowd might not be too great with the game going up against a Vikings game but I'm still looking forward to seeing how the Thunder puts on a game presentation. I've been to games in Owatonna, Mason City and Fargo so it should be interesting to compare game night in Albert Lea.

Maybe I'll make the trip to Albert Lea as well. I'd like to meet Nut Job and Ice Pick to see what makes them tick.
