sigh

Lindros played about 20 games in the league. I love how they take so much credit for him.

Justin Williams played 9 games, I believe as a sort of rehab/minor stint thing can't really recall the situation. He played with the Plymouth Whalers the rest of that year.

I love Cash-Money and I miss the Chicago Freeze but while Maroon's career looks on an upswing, Bacashihuia's not really what I'd consider an NHL option anymore. And despite being a fan, I still say it was a huge stretch for the Stars to take him in the first round.

Craig Anderson's NAHL career ended with him whining, quitting on his team midseason in a horrible mess. Granted, yes he's starting to become a solid NHL back-up

Cam Janssen *shrugs* him, Moss and Stastny were on that Sting team together but I always tend to forget about them. I don't think Stastny played too many games like half a season and then a small few the next year. Cam had a buttload of PIMs but...par for his course. Moss only played 9 games.

I don't recall Rupp playing too many games either. Maybe a small handful but true, he's at least an alright NHl fourth liner.

Fristche was amazing, I'll give you that. Him, Jimmy Slater and I forget who the other kid was on that line -- Goebel? They were fun to watch.

I don't recall Krajicek at all but there he was on a pretty solid Compuware club with Kowalski in net. Swistak was awesome. I remember Wiz on that team but not Krajicek so *shrugs* not sure why.

Never really liked David Legwand. Still don't. Mostly because my friend sort of has a somewhat unhealthy obession with him. Still claims that he'll wind up better than Lecavalier. The claims are getting less and less emphatic but....

But yeah I guess if we're looking at the jump to the OHL there's been a few to do it too, but I sort of still like Maroon's upside at this point. I guess he does, yes, have a long way to go between now and Eric Lindros's career numbers

yeah but they can take credit for lindros and them just like the ushl takes credit for ringers coming into there league and being alumni guys like brian lee carl sneed guys who will come in with college scholarships and play like 7 or 8 games and then get drafted buy the nhl they claim as there alumni....

Meh not trying to make this a USHL v NAHL thing. There's already enough of that but yeah, other than the name, who was Sam Gagner in the USHL really?

Also a few things have come up and I'm probably not going to be there for the 15, 16, 17, and maybe the 18.

So you going to the camp? Just curious on any of the interesting names there and who's all returning.

2nd leading scorer on the team and an all-star is all Laughing I could go on and on about alumni, but I won't. It's probably pointless anyways.

Smackles, another poster on here (fangers) should be in attendance at the Springy tryouts. His kid is trying out there. I'd hope he could give you some info from camp.

Yeah, unfortunately next week is the busiest of the year at my clients (endof month, quarter, fiscal year reporting) but I'm hoping to get up there sometime Thursday. But I know another dad who will be there the whole week, so I'll try to get some feedback from him as the week goes on.

Vets not returning

Good news for the rookies as many vets will not return to the Jr. Blues. Not one DI opportunity for last years team. Pretty pathetic.

Eh I wouldn't say all the kids deserved D-1 scholarships. Quite a few of them need at least a little more seasoning.

But yes, there were a few that I was myffed about not getting better offers. And by the end of the season, I'm a bit myffed about Patterson going to Army. You hope they straighten him out a bit.

do you think the lack of D1 commitments from last year has more to do with the players not being ready for D1 or the coach's lack of college connections? Or maybe some other factor.

(Serious question, not meant to be a slam. i know nothing about the blues)

I feel its a combo of both. I mean Rickord and I believe Rowe had college offers but were told they needed at least one more year at the junior level. That it'd be best for them.

But yeah something's wrong when out of like 17 returning players only 6 actually decide to return. Jon Gaffney, Kyle Greco, Matt Globke (kind of surprised), Andy Kitt, Derek Kimbro and Phil Cook are the only ones back from the looks of it.

*shrugs* I'll ask around when I go to camp but

Scott Keevan to Okotoks Alberta
Jared Rickord and Darren Rowe to Cedar Rapids
Dan Weiss to Lincoln

This seriously can't be all that's coming back because I'm rather myffed to why Chris Gentile isn't back. That leg should be healed.

Mike Crowder, I'm not sure he has good enough foot speed to survive anywhere else.

Casey Dion probably has options but I'm shocked that we don't have a single dman coming back? I'm hoping that the paper and other people I've talked to are just wrong. I thought for sure Paine would be back. I thought he could be a strong player, maybe our top guy this year.

Klemen *shrugs* he obviously has options and he's really one of the ones you can point to and wonder why he didn't get a college offer. Yeah he had some back trouble and was sick during the WJC Div 1s but he was solid enough when in the line-up during the season half.

Zobak tried out for Cedar Rapids. You'd assume he caught someone else's eye making their all-star game. I think Zobbie improved by leaps and bounds last year.

Felt kind of bad for Ryan Townsend, he never really got too many cracks at the line-up. He was sort of interesting at times when there but it felt like it was probably a wasted year for him. I thought if he came back he would be a strong no.3 center but I don't blame him for not returning.

Matt Aponte and Garrett Tinkham weren't expected back anyway. So no shocker there.

Hmm someone didn't read the topic...but then again his name is 'troll' so that's expected. I think we established that.

RLN -- who else is at try-outs? Any interesting names. Anyone else from the club last year? As I said I'll probably won't get out there until the late Friday game and the late Saturday game.

Which AJHL club for Dion? Joining Keevan with the Oilers?

And yeah, I forgot Colin Traschel but that's understandable. We ever figure out where he went?

AK -- I don't know for each invididual but there's a few personality conflicts and a few pissed about their ice time or their role (ie Keevan)
