Chicago Goaltender trade

Interesting to see thqat Chicago taded goaltender Richard Bachman to Cedar Rapids. Bachman was the very first overall pick in the 2006 draft. In seven games, he managed a 2-5 record with a 4.85 GAA and a .888 save percentage. I hope that he fairs wekk in his new home.

Bachman has always had great teams in front of him. You see what happens when he has to stand on his head to succeed. The results to date haven't been pretty but Cedar Rapids is much stronger than Chicago so he has a chance to change his fortunes.
This is an interesting trade on the other side as well as McGann gets drafted by NHL Stars last year but hasn't shown he can do it in Juniors either.
Both will be under pressure to show they can play not only for their new teams but at the Juniors level and move on to higher levels after that.
Good luck to both Bachman and McGann who I understand are both good guys.

Bachman recorded a W in his debut for Cedar Rapids. He beat Waterloo in Waterloo to give them their first home loss.

After giving up 7 last night to Lincoln, Bachman's stats are very close to what he had at Chicago. what is the talk about this trade after a few weeks have passed in Cedar Rapids and Chicago?

Apparently, there isn't much talk about anything in Chicago. Their website is a mess, their fan message board is a ghost town too. Looking at the boxscores of their games against Tri-City this past weekend, plus Cedar Rapid's win against Lincoln, I guess it's pretty easy to say that Cedar Rapids fleeced the Steel on this deal.

The guy who had been running the site quit his job with the Steel. He did a good job of updating people to what was going on, but after he quit, most of it was removed from the site. You can bet what's on the site now will probably be there in May.
