that's right, fred. if those companies make/sell so many products that their need for labor consistently and significantly exceeds their supply of labor, then the workforce will gain control and/or substantial influence over the conditions of employment (salaries, benefits, work conditions, etc). as wages, benefits, overtime, etc increase, the fact that the company is making/selling more product will not result in higher profits. plus, if everyone is employed, gov't will eventually stop subsidizing big business' workforce. |
So all the companies in the country got together at some big meeting and agreed to a deal to keep the jobs fewer than the workforce? Did this meeting by chance take place at Area 51?

you are talking in circles again, fred. like i keep telling you, you are supporting big businesses' at-will, on-demand, low-wage workforce so that big business won't have to do that themselves. they can force you to do that, because they can make sure that they never allow the number of jobs to exceed the number of people who need jobs. |
You're the one talking in circles there, adolf... Typical. Fred said that there are enough jobs for anyone who wants one. And your answer is to keep going back to the number of people who are unemployed (which includes both those who want jobs and those who don't want jobs versus the number of available jobs. If there were people wanting jobs, but none were available, then there wouldn't be any want-ads, now would there? The fact is there are jobs available everywhere, yet there are still unemployed people. Why's that?

fred has no idea how many people want a job. that is just another of fred's scams for racist and bigoted suckers like you to fall for. there are twice as many unemployed people as there are available jobs. that is a FACT*.
*you may now return to your racist and bigoted opinions.

That's impossible. All the unemployed people want jobs, so there can't be any available, or they'd all be taken. |
turnover, 5. turnover. |
Horseshit, jc. Horseshit.
There are a wide variety of jobs available, from high turnover, low skill jobs, to low turn over, high skill jobs and everywhere in between. But you have to actually want a job.
Hell, I dated a girl in high school who's dad hadn't worked in over three years because he was "holding out for a management position". Half the reason I broke up with her is because I didn't want to have to support his dumb ass. Last I knew (as of two years ago, when I last ran into her) he still hadn't managed to find a job! But I'm really sure he must have wanted one, right?
