I hadn't thought about that. I could, to help fix "the problems I cause", look for companies that hire unskilled darkies and pay them more than they are worth. I wonder if Mr Illich would sell me a small part of the Detroit Tigers.

oh, fred, that is precious. you're upset that you got caught in the redneck's "plenty of jobs for all" lie and are dragging those negative feelings over to this thread. really, you don't have to do that. all you have to do is count the jobs in the ads and then we can compare that to the # of people who need jobs.

aw, quibbler II can't think of anything smart to say about the wnd article, either. try this, bb - count the jobs in your newspaper ads on sunday and i'll tell you how many people in your town are unemployed. then, we'll compare to see if there are enough jobs for all of them. or, you can just join fred and try to quibble your way out of his lie.

I actually counted today. Ther was 100. But then BB messed everything up by reminding me that the ad for the Army would probably mean there is more than one opening.

some people don't want jobs. how handy for them that big business, in order to control the labor supply and demand, makes sure that there will never be jobs for everyone. and, as a secondary gain, they get the gov't to subsidize their workforce.
seriously, if you knew anything about economics you would stop saying all these incredibly ignorant things.

So GM and Ford purposely build fewer cars so they won't have to hire more people? McDonalds limits their number of stores to make sure too many kids don't have jobs? Walmart chooses not to build more stores because then there would be too many people with jobs?

that's right, fred. if those companies make/sell so many products that their need for labor consistently and significantly exceeds their supply of labor, then the workforce will gain control and/or substantial influence over the conditions of employment (salaries, benefits, work conditions, etc). as wages, benefits, overtime, etc increase, the fact that the company is making/selling more product will not result in higher profits. plus, if everyone is employed, gov't will eventually stop subsidizing big business' workforce.
