With a successful team on the ice and good attendence will come even better players and then the college deals!
Again I wonder how you rationalize the scope of things in your head?
This year your numbers will grow at the gate! We will be bringing loads of people to support the Roadrunners when we play in St Louis and Springfield this year!
Hey Lou could ya help a brother out and reccomend a good Hotel or maybe a place to Eat!

You try ever so hard to discredit the Bandits with your jealous infused post but fail to come up with anything that remotely resembles an organization that doesn't thrive off the ice. Like I said, and please try to read this time, the Bandits have their top priority and that TOP PRIORITY is the players. They took an impossible situation at Chesterfield and made it work. No, they don't have Ms. Botox windfalls to show for it. They have 12 new NCAA Division I players for THIS YEAR to show for it. Your jealous remarks has you grasping at straws to try to discredit the Bandits. Believe me, if this management team was located in Topeker, they would have doubled the attendance of the Topeker flop and dive show with a high temple, skill enhanced, very entertaining game of hockey. But they don't have the benefit of showing in a town where hockey knowledge is limited at best. They are in an impossible financial situation, but somehow they have won to National Championships while placing over 20 players into NCAA Division I. They had done so without great financial losses. Not only is that impressive, it is astounding. But for the hillbillys in Topeker, you will never understand that. Go ahead and buy those season seats there in Topeker, I hear the lady needs a new surgery for you all to pay for. And please, continue to show your ignorance by trying to discredit the organization that puts its players first. Your a complete idiot if you can't figure that out. And I guess you can't.

And Coach Cooper moved to the USHL's Gamblers and the greatest franchise in NAHL history had such awesome seasons back to back they now look to take care of the shortfall in the stands......( You would think that a team that is that good people would pay to come to see!)
In a move to increase the 7th worst attendance of the year with a dismal 748 fans per game the Bandiits go to the extreame to draw in fans.
I know I am happy to have our team here and am willing to pay for the qualtity product the RoadRunners provide!

Bandits Announce Season Ticket Packages
The St. Louis Bandits have announced their Summer Season Ticket Packages. Each month the organization will offer a different season ticket package leading up to the 2008-2009 home opener. To purchase your season tickets please contact Tom Brooks at (636) 536-4882.
July 1-July 31- BUY ONE GET THREE FREE AT $275!
August 1-August 31- BUY ONE GET TWO FREE AT $275!
September 1-September 30- BUY ONE GET ONE FREE AT $275!
"WOW" there is no way even with no rent that this team can make any money at $2.55 per ticket.
That would be $2.55/ticket times 22466 fans this year= $57,288.30
WOW what a loss for the group!
I wonder how much they lost in Texarkana?
Anyone have those numbers?
I am not sure why you would do that!
Promotional marketing at it's worst!
Provide a qaulity product for next to free and wonder why you made no money?
The Bandits on the Ice were awesome and that makes this even more strange!

I have said many times that the Bandits time here is short lived. That is something that they really don't have control over. No way for Junior Hockey to be a great attendance machine in Chesterfield. Simply won't happen. Also, they left Texarkana for reasons that don't include money. They openly admit that financially they would be taking a hit by moving here. But the moved because it gave their players a fair chance to compete. No going weeks at a time without local ice and the other nightmares of the Texarkana situation. But if you look at what this group has done off the ice and it is top notch. The sponsorships and advertising they have sold has allowed the team to come close to breaking even. That makes them an amazing franchise when you compare them to the two previous Junior Hockey attempts in Chesterfield.
But lets also look at what they can control. Yes, if they located in an area like Topeker where the fans don't know a hockey stick from a broom handle, they could "pack em in". But they don't. They are located in a very sophisticated hockey community. The locals know its just youth hockey being played. The Bandits also have made the commitment to their players. Look at the college advancements the last two years. Compare it to that attendance juggerknot Topeker. Did Topeker move 12 players to D-1 this year like the Bandits? No, they moved 3. They couldn't even move some of their top line guys to D-1, while the Bandits moved their 3rd and 4th liners on. So it wasn't the abilities of the players. It was the management. One is committed to moving players on to college, even if it costs them a few $, while the other is more interested in getting fans to attend their games. If you choose to ridicule the organization that is committed to its players, it only reinforces what an easy sell hockey is in Topeker. Yes, Topeker has better attendance. But who does that help? Does it help the players? No, it just lines the pockets of Ms. Botox and company. I am sure all Topeker is proud. |
I should have qualified that a little bit. My focus was purely on the gate when I was talking about lack of attendance. Everything off the ice is great from all indications.

| Quote: | St. Louis, MO, East Lansing, MI and Anchorage, AK have little in common.
But for the moment, they are eerily intertwined.
Earlier this week, Michigan State hired former Spartan Damon Whitten to return to his alma mater to become Director of Hockey Operations, this after the Brighton, MI native had spent two seasons serving as an assistant to University of Alaska-Anchorage head coach Dave Shyiak.
That left an opening for a second assistant in Anchorage, which will be filled, reliable sources told AHR Friday morning, by former Seawolve Regg Simon.
In what seems at the moment to be nothing short of an unseemly cut and run, Simon, formerly the head coach at Des Moines, had just been hired in May to take over the coaching and managerial duties in St. Louis (May 19 - Simon Says St. Lou), where the Bandits have reigned NAHL supreme for two seasons running and had long been served in the same capacity by Jon Cooper-who in May accepted similar duties with the USHL's Green Bay Gamblers.
Simon, who led the Buccaneers to the 2006 USHL Clark Cup title, left Des Moines midway through the 2008 season after the club went through an ownership change. After seeking out several coaching opportunities thereafter, Simon (of Elk River, MN), landed in St. Louis and was thrilled to take over not only a standing league champion but also (arguably) the most stable franchise in the NAHL.
To that argument, we highly doubt Simon's leaving St. Louis was money or stability related, at least in so far as the Bandits are concerned. Needless to say, the Bandit organization, including co-owner (and former NHL tough guy) Kelly Chase is rather put out by the rather swift and surprising turn of events.
Simon's departure continues a rash of coaching moves within the last week. Whitten moved to Michigan State, Western Michigan assistant Chris Brooks is moving onto the Central Hockey League (July 24 - A Job Opening In Kalamazoo), and late last week Northeastern University assistant Gene Reilly bid farewell to the Huskies for a coaching opportunity in Europe.
Additionally, AHR received word a few days ago that Mighty Thor (the NAHL expansion Albert Lea Thunder) lost its head coach Paul Willet, who had just been hired within the last month.
