i think walt is asking the wrong questions and is concerned about the wrong issues. he should be asking why black students cannot get the same quality of secondary education as white students. fix that problem and then there is no problem with law school grades.

That is a different question. The one he is talking about is should black kids be accepted to schools they aren't qualified for?

Even though the stats say almost all fail? It wouldn't be better if they got a law degree from the University of Alabama and then went on to become a lawyer?
