FINAL UPDATE

the reason the kid was banned from pitching was because he had also been recruited from the upper division league by the previous season's rec league champions. that team is coached by an "executive" of the league (who also happens to be a relative of one of the owners of the league). but, instead of signing with the politically powerful team the kid instead signed with another team.
when all is said and done, everyone was trying to cheat by using a ringer. as usual, the team with the political connections won out and will end up being the league champs.
meanwhile, the kid is back playing in the upper division league where he always belonged.

oh, i already knew that some parents and coaches cheat and encourage their kids to do it, too. i just thought it was funny that you boys thought it was acceptable for them to do that. plus the added enjoyment of listening to you carry on and on about something you didn't know anything about.
