Well I'm sure glad to see that they want to make his execution humane. After all, it sure sounds like he was humane when killing his victims.

i oppose the death penalty. we can't be sure that innocent people aren't being executed. there are simply too many mistakes and problems in the justice system, too many convictions being oveturned due to dna, too much racism in jury selection and decision making and too much new science proving that even eyewitness identifications are often flawed.
what really amazes me is that so-called "right to life" supporters almost invariably support the death penalty, even knowing that innocent people are likely being executed. it seems kinda' hypocritical to me.

Good point, only two problems:

A. He admitted to everything but the actual killings. If he was there, helped disable the car, helped rape the girls, and then stood idly by while his buddy beat and strangled both girls to death (unlikely), he's still guilty by his own admission.

B. You want to bitch about innocent people being convicted, yet you still support unqualified individuals being allowed to bypass qualified individuals in admission to law school based solely on race.

Just how stupid are you?

1. the death penalty isn't about this one person. it is about a system that kills people based on often unreliable information.
2. i support affirmative action because it is clear that as long as there are racists like you in america minorities will never have equal opportunity without it.
bonus point - 3. i'm glad you brought up the poor legal representation thing. that is one more reason why the death penalty is flawed - poor people do not get the same quality of legal representation as rich people do. and once they are dead, that problem cannot be corrected.

I am for the death penalty as long as the trial is "fair" Dallas has seen something like 19 convictions, not all death penalty, overturned in the last 5 years..ok..here is the exact info... http://ipoftexas.org/19-dallas-convictions-overturned-since-death-of-henry-wade/ due to overzealous prosecutors and lying police officers. Also the famous "coacaine convictions" that blew up due to corrupt police http://www.november.org/razorwire/rzold/27/page03.html

funny story here... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,380083,00.html?sPage=fnc/us/crime

i wish i had your faith that we can sort out the "fair" convictions from the ones that are tainted by the problems i mentioned.

JC made some good points about fair quality legal representation ,the poor and middle class don't get it like the rich,ED Kenndy and OJ are 2 prime examples. However on the flip side this man is admitting to his crime.

THIS is the case we're discussing, jc... He admitted involvement. Period.

I'm still amazed that you will support a system that allows unqualified individuals to practice law, and then bitch about the injustice of the legal system. You aren't only stupid, you're a hypocrite too!

no. that is the case you are discussing. i am discussing the death penalty and the judicial system that imposes it on people. i am suprised that you support killing people when we have proof that the judicial system is flawed, that convictions are often based on unreliable and mistaken information. every lawyer, no matter how they got into law school, has to pass the bar exam. as far as affrmative action; like i keep saying, as soon as racists like you stop discriminating against minorities we won't need it. like fred, you are the creator of most of the problems you spend all your time bitching about.
