Oilers Acquire Power Forward Kozak
Point a Game Player With Laredo Last Year

Rugged right winger Rick Kozak will be bashing bodies in the BOK Center next Central Hockey League season as the Tulsa Oilers have acquired him from the Laredo Bucks.

Kozak, 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, averaged a point a game for Laredo last season with 21 goals and 23 assists for 44 points in 43 games. He also racked up 163 penalty minutes and was a +12.

The 23-year old from Norway House, Manitoba was the third round pick (95th overall) of the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2003 National Hockey League entry draft. In exchange for Kozak, the Oilers trade defenseman Cody Hamilton and center Mike Mullen to Laredo.

“Rick has a great combination of toughness and scoring ability,” Oilers coach Bruce Ramsay said. “He’ll make sure no one on our team is going to get pushed around. And he can come up with the big goals when we need them too,”


I can't stand this D-Bag, but why the hell can't the Thunder make this move? He'd at least make the games entertaining.

Did you post this to support your earlier statement or the position of your team being tough? Neither occurred. Liebel was smoked in this video and is no longer with your team. Lucky for him too after that last place finish. Besides toughness has never been in the equation for the Blunder.

Duh - I'm in Austin, so I don't give a crap either way. Kozak is a head case, but if he manages to avoid suspensions and stupid penalties this could be a preview of what is seen this fall. Voth said he'll take a psycho over a purse-swinger. Maybe it will work out well for them.

This league was founded on nut-jobs,pyschos...and guys that knew how to play old time hockey.....

Well, good signing by the Oilers. Kozak is big, tough and has some skill.

He loves powdered donuts as well. He'll find the best first thing after getting to Tulsa.
