It's too bad you're sick and tired of hearing about what Simon did X years (sorry fans memory escapes me on just how many years ago this incident occurred).
However, Simon as you call him did put a players eye out. To my limited knowledge Todd Howarth went blind in said eye because of the INTENTIONAL butt ending to his face.
What this shows IMHO is a pattern of this type of behavior and dirty play under Coach Sauter by OKC players.

My question to you regarding the current incident would be 1) were you at the game and did you see the play OR have you seen a tape of the play?

It is a shame that OKC will result to such tactics when they know that Wichita has the better of them.

That is all.

For what it's worth

I'm tired of seeing "clean hit" injuries this year. The league has to take a stand on this as I've read lots of posts from different teams' fans on this issue.

Mudbugs have had two d-men seriously injured from these sorts of hits, and Marty Standish tried to take out Brett Smith tonight with an elbow to the head. Ref didn't see it, but Smitty pounded Standish's head like he was tenderizing a piece of meat. Should make for some interesting hockey in OKC tomorrow night.

Speedy recovery to Clayton. Always enjoy watching him play.

justafan, look at the tape. You will clearly see a blow to the head by an elbow or forearm.

Sorry, but I don't believe, in the least. And here's why (this was brought up on Sport Blitz, this morning); 1) Clayton was on his side of center ice. Fleck is a d-man. D-men don't press that far up ice, when the other team pressing into their zone. 2) Clayton had already passed the puck, up into the Blazer zone, and in no way was in the play. And Fleck, a d-man, was way up the ice. 3) Fleck was behind Clayton before he hit him. Did I mention Fleck is a d-man?

He meant to do what he did. Maybe not exactly the outcome, but he meant to take out Clayton. Now whether he did it on "orders", I have no way of knowing. Wasn't paying attention to the Walrus before that happened. But there is no reason for defenseman should have been that far up ice, without an alterior motive. And if you believe otherwse, you might want to stop by your local Psychiatric center, and have that dementia check. It's really showing in your posts.

Tyler Fleck is an idiot and he has never been good at hockey. He had a 4 minute spearing call earlier, shows what kind of a player he is. He will get his shit handed to him later in the year against wichita.

I would love to see that (in a fight), I'm just having trouble figuring out who, on our roster, is capable of doing it.

Rumors are that we are going to sign Tim "Dr. Hook" McCracken, Ogie Ogilthorpe, Andre "Poodle" Loussier & Clarence "Screaming Buffalo" Swamptown for that game.

i was at the game and i HAVE seen it replayed many times. THe simon incident was a freak accident. You talk about dirty play??? What about Doug Sheddens play? You wana talk dirty.... I have seen alot worst from that man. Tyler went skating towards clayton and hit him. maybe soem of the blame should be placed on cayton for not paying attition to his surroundings????

You really are an idiot. The hit was CLEARLY a blow to Claytons head....it was a dirty hit that was not necessary. Watch the video and you will see what I mean. I can't say what Fleck was thinking, but he clearly hit Clayton squarely in the head, when he easily could have given Clayton a good CLEAN hard body check that most likely would have taken Clayton to the ice anyway. I don't care about all the past history between these teams....I am talking about this one incident...it was a dirty hit that could have been avoided if Fleck had chosen to deliver a clean hit

I know anybody who has seen Travis's face can assure justafan that he is not faking the cuts. And anyone who knows anything thing about concussions knows that it takes a very extensive knowledge to even remotely fake one, and your chances, even then, of successfully faking one are slim. Besides, why would Clayton fake an injury that will probably keep him out for at least two weeks. I guarentee you Clayton is faking nothing. He may not really be contemplating retiring, but he was very emotional at the time. FYI for anyone that doesn't know, serious changes in mood are common are common with head injuries. Tough guys cry, aggressors become reserved, and quite and resevered players become outspoken and angry.

It is sad that Clayton ended up how he did but the person most at fault is French. This is what happens when you can't police the ice bottom line.

TStruck, we were going to sign those guys but they:

1. Can't score 100 pts
2. Aren't rookie tough guys
3. Are having Visa problems
4. Are not good in the locker room
5. Are kind of wild outside of the locker room

etc..

etc..
