I all know that beer has alcohol in it,a person who is an alcoholic is addicted to the alcohol therefore beer can be addictive depending of the persons choice of drink.i play Golf with a couple of guys who each can drink a 12 pack within 9 holes.

I'm living proof. I drank beer for 11 days in a row on my fishing trip and now haven't had any in 8 days. (I'm trying to lose a couple pounds) No will power doesn't mean somebody is addicted.

Are they addicted or thirsty?

I once ate 28 White Castles. Does that mean I'm addicted to them?

It was a long time ago. But I believe there was some beer involved too.

Millions of alcoholics world wide have only drank beer and never the hard liquer. Myself prefered whiskey rum tequilla, burboun or gin straight, and chased it down with beer.

Bet fred likes the fruity drinks huh?

Just beer. So you're addicted? Or just no resolve?

i've had quite a few friends who didn't have enough "resolve" not to be alcoholics. or not to get cancer. or not to have children with catastrophic illnesses. or not to go bankrupt and need gov't assistance when their medical bills overwhelmed their finances. fortunately, fred, the superior strength of your character will insure that no such problems ever befall you or yours.

So getting cancer and having a weak will (can't have one beer) are the same?

being an alcoholic isn't necessarily a matter of a "weak will". i know lots of people with absolutely no self-discipline who drink without a problem. and some of the strongest willed, most self-disciplined people i know cannot touch a drop of alcohol without being compelled to continue drinking until their life is ruined. you people who care only about finding blame and acting holier than thou give me the creeps.

Compelled huh? Don't get me wrong. I'm really glad there are people who have money or good insurance and can be convinced it is a disease that needs to be treated. I keep trying to convince myself that I am fat because I am addicted to food. Not because I just like to eat too much. But being reasonable intelligent, I just can't convince myself.
