In his role in Omaha, Bakken was the “elder statesman” for broadcasters in the USHL, having voiced a total of 14 seasons, six in Omaha and a total of eight seasons in two stints in Sioux City, Iowa. RiverKings’ Director of Business Operations Dave “Flab” Mattice says, “I think Bob brings a lot of experience to us. He comes highly recommended from several people and I think he’s going to be a great new voice for the RiverKings.” In addition to his time in the USHL, Bob has an extensive radio broadcasting background with stops in Minnesota, Kansas, Iowa and South Dakota. He has earned several awards for sports and news reporting. The RiverKings are getting ready for the 2008-09 Central Hockey League season at the DeSoto Civic Center. hey at least that's a start. He should be very good by the time the season actually starts. Just think of all the time he now has to practice. And all the time he has to go out and get good microphones to speak into! He should be well prepared!!

We found that out the hard way last season.

You'd think the former skate sharpener turned Director of Business Operations (talk about a promotion!) would realize the importance of having equipment for the players.

Remember he is the same ass hole who sent them on a road trip with out an equipt. mgr. And sends them on trips with out enough equipt to play a game, so if you think he is going to change now FORGET IT.
I am thinking that Flab was offer'd the job w/the all you can eat in the sky box, drink, and be able to pimp for rich Puckbunnies , instead of a raise in pay. One hell of a YES man tho.

Interesting to see just who is crazy enough to work for either of them, and if he is single, look at the perks. Could be interesting to say the least.
