Yhea the coach doesn't play the game but, he should be the one setting the attitude for the way we play. I'd much rather see guys on the ice that try and want to play then the shit we are seeing. Duda, clayton and blaz..-7. I could care less if we have the top 3 scorers in the league. This is a team game and defense wins games. Its time the thunder start doing both. After the last 4 or 5 games give me a team of Liebels instead of Duda's, CLayton's or Blaz's. He has one intangeble that many on this team lack....HEART!!!!

It's time to take a look at trading some of those on the bottom of the +/- list. Trade the worst one for a Ramsey or a Schultz type forward for a linemate with Clayton and Duda. If they didn't have to babysit the "Goldenboy", they could destroy the scoring records. The Goldenboy turns into the "Disappearing man" if Clayton and Duda aren't carrying him.

Why? The vets aren't doing anything right now. Two of them are the worst on defense (one of them actually being a defensemen ). Just because they are vets, doesn't make them untouchable. They're supposed to be the "leaders", otherthan on the scoreboard. But the way the road record looks right now, they seem to only "lead" when they are at home. Sure this is a team effort, but when the rest of the team isn't pulling it's weight, it needs to be the vets who step up, and motivate the younger players (since French doesn't seem to have what it takes to get these guys motivated, on the road ). Drop a deadweight vet, and the rest of the guys will know that no roster spot is safe.

Bugs fan's perspective:

WE turned it on for 60 minutes, your guys did not. We've been in much the same slump and it has been refreshing to emerge somewhat(so it seems after 2 good games). First period was hard fought both ways. Our line of Spurr, Manatowich & Palahickey were flying and setting each other up like we haven't seen lately. Your D let down on 2 of the 3 goals. The fight - Lupul scored the shots, Coghlan scored the takedown, not much to it. 2nd period was good D by both teams, we pressured more to even the SOG. 3rd period the Bugs played hungry and allowed no real scoring opportunities. Cacciola came up strong in his first game since Carroll's return.
These two teams will fight again in the extra season. See y'all then.

I guess I'll have to spell it out for you.

With some protection Clayton, Duda and the protector could score more than Clayton, Duda, and the Goldenboy and not give up so damn many goals. The Goldenboy, aka the disappearing man, aka Mr. One-way has to be a drag on the team as a whole. When you have one man allowed to not carry his weight then the team as a whole falls down to not carrying their weight.
